The 21st of October saw the launch of the three day art exhibition by the 4th year painting students from Jawaharlal Nehru College of Fine Arts in Masab Tank. The exhibition was held in the Jawaharlal Nehru College of Fine Arts’ gallery. The concepts used by the students were varied. They ranged from still life to current affairs. An interesting work on feminism was also in display. Most of the works of art were done in oil, watercolor, color pencil, mixed media and collage. A novel layering with acrylic sheet and paper was used in still life works.
Known as one of the best colleges of fine arts in the region, the college organises a three-day-exhibition for the final year students in the painting stream. Their other streams of photography, sculpture applied arts have equally attracted attention in their art displays.
The artists were present at the gallery and were seen explaining the concept of the various works to visitors. The paintings were executed in different styles; cubism, abstract and traditional art form both Indian and Western.
Students have preparing themselves for the last few months to show their skills and to prove their talents. This could be a life changing event for the artists, as they may meet sponsors and get to know about the real market and the trend. The exhibition by the 4th year JNTU painting students was a fresh perspective and many visitors and students were seen at the exhibition despite the heavy rains.
