Cough lozenges by Zinda Tilismath
Very soon Hyderabad will see the launch of a cough remedy in the form of lozenges by Zinda Tilismath, the 93-year-old Unani Herbal medicine brand. The company will be entering the 1000Cr lozenges market and will be competing against the likes of Halls, Vicks and Strepsils. These products are either sold on the medicinal throat relief platform or just as a cool, refreshing product, attracting the younger generation.

A household name across many parts of India, Zinda Tilismath, which is made out of a secret recipe that has

been passed through three generations of the founding family, will now bring out the throat lozenges as a value-added product, under the brand name Zint. Zint would be coming out with a tag line “The world is going herbal, what about you”.

The company is yet to decide on the marketing platform. “It will be marketed as a cold, cough and headache relief product, as it is a derivative of our flagship brand Zinda Tilismath, which is made out of eucalyptus oil, camphor, menthol and alkanet root”,  Sohail Farooqui, member of the founding family of the company, told Business Line.

In 1920 Hakim Mohd. Moizuddin Farooqui, invented a liquid formulation for multiple ailments. It is used to cure headache, stomach ache, cough, and cold. It can be applied externally as well as taken internally.
